What Am I Missing?

I don't understand the Twitter craze. Perhaps I'm one of those rare breeds who don't want to be that connected to people. Can someone extol the virtues of Twitter to me, please?

Yesterday afternoon, I was stuck at a red light while a high school parking lot was letting out. What did I see? Nearly every driver pulling out, and most appeared to be HS kids, were doing the head down drive - better known as texting while driving. And it makes me think this behavior is compulsive for some. A habit for some.

So if my hunch is correct, I have a feeling tweeter is simply an outlet for those with this habit/compulsion.

And I am with yah, I don't get it.

I have never even been on twitter. I don't get what the big deal is either. Why would I want to write about every little thing i do and think every moment of my day? who cares?

It's for those who stuggle with extreme narcissism and extreme nosieness. I'm just say'n.

It's a delightful hive mind. I follow locals. You can see where they're eating, working out, what fun places there are to go on the weekend. People throw out questions, any the city replies. I've gotten some wonderful suggestions.

@Rosco Tanger Baker

Most high schoolers I know don't use Twitter. Twitter is filled with 30-somethings.

@Sarah - Interesting twist on the traditional "theory" of Twitter--obsessively following the minute movements of people you don't know. Thanks for giving us an informed two cents.
